Summer Reading List

1. Family Affair by Caprice Crane 

I have read her other hilarious books and I cannot wait to get my hands on this one.

2. Cum Laude by Cecily von Ziegesar

She wrote the Gossip Girls series along with many other series.  I read the summary and this book looks juicy!

3. The Last Night at Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger

Lauren was the author of the very popular "The Devil Wears Prada."  This won't be published for a couple more months but I am still pretty pumped about this one.

4. The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell

If you haven't heard of Candace's books, then you must have been living under a bush for reals.

5. L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad

Yes, you read that right.  Lauren Conrad. Pshhhhh I hope some of the "fictional stories" are true.  I mean, don't authors tend to take things they know from their own life and write about them?

i found all of these at Fred Flare, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Mod Cloth. i have been needing some books to put on the bottom shelf of my glass coffee table.  these are some of my favorites out there right now.  maybe ill get one or two for my birthday thats coming up next week! :)

New Read- Going all the Way

A couple of Sundays ago, as I was waiting for church to start, I was perusing the books out in the foyer that were recommended reading for everyone.  (ps. I started going with the bf to Life Church when I was in funky town...seriously look it up if you are interested in a church where the pastor is relateable, doesn't hold back, and challenges you every lesson.  Even if you don't reside around a Life Church campus, you can catch their live feed each Sunday and/or watch past sermons online.)

I just got this book in the mail today and I am super excited about what I might learn from this book.  The description of this book reads:

The best part about this book is that there is something in it for everyone, whether you are single, dating, married, etc.  I will definitely fill you in more after I finish reading it.

Some Good Reads...No, Really...

The first one is called Stupid and Contagious (by Caprice Crane). Its so incredibly hilarious and a fun, easy book to read if you just want some entertainment. Essentially its told from two points of view, Heaven and Brady, and just goes through their interactions as neighbors and other funny things that happen in their lives.

The second one is called Forget About It (which is also by Caprice Crane). I have only gotten about 2/3 of the way through it but yet again, Miss Crane has done it again. Hilarious. If you want something that makes you laugh a ton, its definitely the way to go. The main character, Jordan Landeau, is a push-over that has a very depressing life. She then gets hit by a car while riding her bike to work and from then on pretends to have amnesia. She gets to start over her life as the new Jordan.

The last one is an oldie but a goodie, if you will. Its called the Perks of Being a Wallflower (by Stephen Chbosky). I would have to describe it as a coming-of-age tale from the point-of-view of a 15 year old boy named Charlie. He writes these letters to an anonymous person throughout the book. Its adorable, funny, sad, all of the above. I read this about 5 years ago and I just started reading it again because I love it that much.
